Welcome to the Maryland Masters Certification Program (MMCP) for future Elementary and Secondary Teachers!

The Maryland Graduate Certification Programs (Elementary and Secondary) are alternate teacher education programs designed for both highly educated persons who have completed a baccalaureate degree in n academic field and highly qualified professionals who are interested in a career change. This intensive one year program is based around theory, research and knowledge from the five areas of inquiry: action-research conducted by experienced teachers; research from psychology, sociology, anthropology, and philosophy that addresses the nature of teaching and learning. The curriculum is designed to train highly skilled and qualified teachers.
