Registering for Classes as an Elementary or Secondary Education Major
All undergraduate Elementary and Secondary Education majors are are required to visit the EDCI Teacher Education Advising Office prior to registering for classes. During your advising appointment, you will have an opportunity to sit down with an advisor to discuss your proposed schedule for the upcoming semester, make adjustments to your academic plan, and discuss any extracurricular activites you hope to incorporate into your undergraduate experience (i.e.: study abroad, internships, etc.). You will receive an e-mail from the registrar's office approximately two months prior to the end of the semester requesting that you check your appointment time for registration via Testudo. Your registration appointment date and time for the next semester is also available via the myUMD portal. While confirming your registration date and time, check to see if you have any additional registration blocks that may hinder you from registering on your scheduled date.
The EDCI Teacher Education Advising Office holds walk-in advising hours throughout the week; however, it is encouraged that you meet with an advisor at least two weeks prior to your scheduled registration time. If you are unable to visit the office during walk-in hours, please call the office at (301) 405-3120 to schedule an appointment.

NOTE: If you do not visit your advisor prior to registration appointment time, YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO REGISTER FOR CLASSES. All registration blocks must be removed from your academic record in order to register for classes; therefore, it is imperative that you meet with your advisor in a timely manner to ensure a smooth registration experience.
