Alisa Almas, Ph.D. I received my Ph.D. in Psychology (Developmental) from the University
of Toronto in 2009. In general, I am interested in social development
during childhood and adolescence, and the influences of both parents and
peers on this process. My current work is focused on examining these
various factors in temperamentally inhibited children and the influence of
interacting with peers in daycare. As well, I am examining factors that may
affect the social competence of institutionalized children in Romania
during their peer interactions.

Kathryn (Kate) Amey Degnan, Ph.D. I received my Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from the University of
North Carolina - Greensboro in 2006. My overall area of interest involves
the development of social competence in early childhood. More specifically,
I am interested in examining how child temperament, characteristics of the
mother-child relationship, and interactions of these multiple factors lead
to child behavior and psychopathology. In each of these areas, I strive to
use measures of both maternal and child factors across multiple levels of
analysis (i.e., biological, individual, and family).

Connie Lamm I received my Ph.D. from the University of Toronto in Human Development/Program in Neuroscience in 2008. Broadly, I am interested in examining the neural correlates of self-regulation, both individual and developmental differences. More specifically, I am interested in how differences in the circuitry activated during regulatory functions are related to childhood psychopathology, such as anxiety disorders.

Bethany Reeb-Sutherland I
received my Ph.D. in Psychology (Behavioral Neuroscience) from the
University of New Mexico in 2006. I am interested in identifying physiological
markers that may moderate the relation between temperamental biases and the
development of anxiety disorders. In addition, I am interested in examining
the relation between early learning and the development of social behavior
during the first year of life.
