Current Interests:
Dr. Neubert's area of expertise is in the field of Secondary
Special Education and Transition Services for youth and young adults with
disabilities. Dr. Neubert is involved in a number of grant-supported projects
which focus on personnel preparation for transition specialists and secondary
special educators and on outreach activities for schools systems that
are implementing age appropriate programs for students with significant
disabilities (ages 18-21) on college campuses. Other research interests
center on transition assessment, program evaluation, and pre-college (high
school/high tech) experiences for youth with disabilities.
Since 1986 Dr. Neubert has taught undergraduate and graduate
courses in Secondary Special Education and Transition Methods. Before joining
the Special Education Department she was a Maryland Vocational Evaluator
in St. Mary's County Public Schools, a Project Coordinator for inservice
activities for special and vocational education teachers, and a Project
Director of a research transition grant at the George Washington University.
