Current News and Events

During 2009, the Institute has been awarded several grants that have expanded our College Awareness and Career Exploration program. Currently, the Institute is working with a high school in PGCPS to provide internships to students as part of additional supports students receive as part of GEAR UP. In January 2010, the Institute will begin to work again with a middle school in PGCPS to provide students with information regarding college and careers. 

In addition, the Institute has received a grant to provide professional development to paraeducators in PGCPS and MCPS. The Institute has also been awarded a grant from the National Science Foundation to host a conference in March 2010 on culturally responsive teaching in mathematics.
