"Transforming Learning through Emerging Technologies": Jonathan Wray from Howard County Public Schools and June Ahn, Assistant Professor with a joint appointment in the College of Education and Information Studies will discuss emerging tools/devices that posess remarkable power for transforming learning in the classroom.

Fall 2010

"Preparing Minority Students for College Entrance and Success: National, State, and Local Models": Superintendent Dr. Hite from Prince George's County, Dr. Weast from Montgomery County, and Dr. Maxwell from Anne Arundel County will discuss what their districts are doing to prepare high school students for college.

Spring 2010

"Minority Achievement in Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM)": Will focus on the experiences of minority students in STEM and ways in which students have been supported, encouraged, and interested in STEM. 

Fall 2009

"Immigrant and Minority Children: Policies Impacting Student Success and Teacher Education": Will study the combined impact and challenge both minority and immigrant children present to existing schools and teachers and to teacher education preparation programs.

"Improving Teacher Performance/Student Achievement Through Incentive Plans": Will focus on pay-for-performance incentive plans and their potential for impacting student achievement.

Fall 2008
"Research Informing Practice and Practice Informing Research in Urban Schools": Will examine the interplay between research and practice. Each session will be led by a practicioner and researcher.
