The achievement of U.S. born and non-U.S. born minority children in American schools remains an issue that demands serious attention. Immigrant children also present challenges beyond the training and resources of most teachers. For this session, CoE Visiting Asst. Professor Millicent Kushner and Clemencia Cosentino de Cohen, Acting Dir., The Urban Institute, will explore the impact the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) legislation has had on policy related immigrant and minority children in K-12.
