Opportunities to Participate in Research

Currently in the ECI Lab we are running a study with 4, 5, and 6-year-olds. For this study, we would observe you and your child playing with some toys for 10-15 minutes. You and your child would then both separately complete short decision-making and academic tasks with a researcher.

The Early Childhood Interaction Lab is a part of the Infant and Child Studies Consortium at the University of Maryland. You can find more information about the group and sign up to participate in studies here.

We focus on three connected areas of research in the ECI Lab. In our research, we examine the benefits and unique processes of learning through joint play and activities with peers and adults, and their importance for constructing effective educational practices with young children.
