Therapy

Our clinicians provide one-on-one therapeutic interventions to both children and adults. Lasting approximately 50-minutes, therapy can range in topics to cover issues such as anxiety and depression, relationship concerns, family difficulties, parenting issues, or life adjustment. We ask you arrive a few minutes early in order to fill out a questionnaire before the session begins.

Please note that that COE-CARES Psychological Center is not taking new clients at this time.

Due to the training clinic nature of our services, we are unable to take individuals seeking help in the following topics; however, we would be happy to provide a list of other providers in the area:

  • Substance use
  • Active psychosis
  • Active suicidality or homicidality
  • Child therapy concerning custody cases

Our flat rate fees are $100 for each therapy session ($20 for UMD students [please see below for other requirements]). We offer a sliding scale discount based on household income and number of people living the household. Please inquire with us for an estimate based on the sliding scale fee structure.

If you are a UMD student and would like counseling/therapy services, you must go through the UMD Counseling Center for a referral to our center. Students should contact the COE-CARES Psychological Center or the UMD Counseling Center (301-314-7651; www.counseling.umd.edu) for further questions.
