Joy Jones currently serves as the Admissions Coordinator for the Master’s Certification Pathway
(MCERT) in the Department of Teaching and Learning, Policy and Leadership. She is
responsible for “all things MCERT” such as communicating with current and prospective
students, as well as program faculty; tracking student progress from admissions to graduation;
assisting in the coordination of course scheduling and communicating with faculty. She joined
the University of Maryland & College of Education in January of 1988 where she worked in the
former Department of Curriculum and Instruction, which later became part of the current
Department of Teaching and Learning, Policy and Leadership. She retired after 30 years of
service but returned part-time to assist with the MCERT pathway. When she is not working, she
loves spending time with her grandchildren, baking, and traveling (especially to the beach).
