Center for Young Children Student Aide Employment Opportunities
Students interested in working at CYC as an "aide" may stop by CYC after April 1 each year to pick up an application for the following fall semester, and after November 1 to pick up an application for the following spring semester. Priority for initial interviews may be given to those majoring in education or related fields. An application, unfortunately, does not guarantee an interview. Potential available work hours, indicated on the application, may help determine whether a student is interviewed for a particular semester.
References are checked once a student has been interviewed, and is being considered for a position. If hired, a student will be entered onto University payroll. The new "aide" must have an employment physical with TB test, as well as a criminal background check before beginning work. A mandatory orientation meeting is held at the beginning of each semester for all new employees.
Work hours at CYC are Mondays-Fridays, 7:45-5:30.
