Interest Meeting for Association for Aspiring Educators of Color

An interest meeting for the Association for Aspiring Educators of Color (AAEC) will occur at the beginning of next month.

Social Studies Education major Carly Holmes formed the AAEC as an organization specifically for aspiring educators of color in the College of Education.

The organization has several goals focused on education and educators of color. Some goals include fostering community between aspiring educators of color, helping students network with each other, alumni, and the faculty and staff in the College of Education and preparing students for careers in education and the unique challenges they will face as teachers of color.

Members of the organization do not have to be education majors. Any individual interested in a career in education-related fields such as teaching, education policy, administration, counseling and other education professions is welcome to join.

Date and time: February 2 from 5:00 to 6:00 pm.

Location: Benjamin Building Room 0306 and virtually on Zoom.
