College Programs maintain top rankings by U.S. News & World Report

 

COLLEGE PARK, MD (March, 2012) –Three College of Education programs are ranked among the top 10 in the nation according to the U.S.News & World Report survey released on March 13, 2012.

The program in Counseling and Personnel Services in the Department of Counseling, Higher Education and Special Education (CHSE) has again garnered the number one position in the country for the thirteenth year in a row. The College's program in Special Education, also in CHSE, was ranked 10th. In the Department of Human Development and Quantitative Methodology, the Educational Psychology program was ranked 7th in the nation.

"These rankings reflect the work of our graduate faculty and our students. They strive for excellence in everything they do, and their efforts are not going unnoticed by our peers. I am proud of our programs and very proud to be a part of the College of Education," said Donna Wiseman, Dean.

The College of Education continues to be ranked as the top college of education in the region and among the top colleges of education in the country. This year, the College is ranked 26h, tied with Pennsylvania State University, University of Minnesota and Arizona State University.

The 2013 rankings are released in 2012, as part of U.S. News magazine’s annual guide of “America’s Best Graduate Schools.” The complete guide, including department rankings beyond the top 10, will be released in April 2012. U.S. News also distributes the results of its rankings and explains the survey methodology on its web site: www.usnews.com.
