Maryland Sees Return on Investment in Grow-Your-Own Programs

A recent study co-authored by Associate Professor David Blazar found that students who participated in the program were 45% more likely to become teachers within 10 years, offering rare, credible evidence of long-term impact.

These findings are significant, because this appears to be the first time researchers have analyzed the impacts that a grow-your-own program can have on students’ likelihood of teaching later, said Blazar.
