COLLEGE PARK, MD (May 2011) Professor and Chair Gregory Hancock from the Department of Measurement, Statistics and Evaluation; Professor Melanie Killen of the Department of Human Development; and Professor Megan Peercy from the Department of Curriculum and Instruction were honored as 2011 Graduate Faculty Mentors of the Year by the University of Maryland Graduate School.
This year, 140 graduate students nominated 29 faculty members for the Award. Three of the four honorees that were selected are from the College of Education.
The Graduate Faculty Mentor of the Year award recognizes outstanding achievement in mentoring by recognizing faculty members who have made exceptional contributions to a student’s graduate education and experience. This award recognizes not only the outstanding mentoring provided by the individual faculty members, but also reminds the university community of the signal importance of mentoring to graduate studies.
Drs. Hancock, Killen and Percy were recognized at the Graduate Schools Third Annual Fellowship and Award Celebration on May 5, 2011.
