MCERT Alumna Wins Phi Delta Kappa Teaching Award

COLLEGE PARK, MD (June, 2014) – Graduate alumna Christine Khouri has received the 2014 Outstanding New Teacher Award by the American University chapter of the professional educator association Phi Delta Kappa.

Christine came to TLPL's Education, Curriculum and Instruction program fresh from a bachelor's in English, also taken at the University of Maryland. She studied in the Master's Certification (MCERT) program and graduated in 2012 with an M.Ed. in English Education. She now teaches at Northwood High School in Rockville, Maryland.

Upon receiving the award, Christine expressed gratitude for her experience in MCERT and had special praise for its English coordinator, Dr. Peggy Wilson.
