Using Groups in your ELMS Course

Student Group

COLLEGE PARK, MD (February, 2017) – The Groups feature is a collaborative tool found in ELMS/Canvas where students can work together on projects and assignments. Participants can also use it to communicate on ungraded assignments or document in-class work. Canvas allows instructors to assign students in a group or students can sign themselves up in a “self-sign-up” group. Using Groups also allows creation of Group Home Pages that members can use as a collaborative tool.  Groups are available in term-based courses and collaborative organizational spaces created by the college.
