- Identifying ways the arts can be used to strengthen cognitive abilities that can aid in mathematical learning.
- Spatial ability & relational reasoning

I am a first year doctoral student in the HD, Educational Psychology program. I received my B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Central Florida earlier this year. I am eager to explore the cognitive mechanisms involved in learning as well as the arts. In doing so, I hope to enhance STEM learning and achievement especially among underrepresented populations. Currently, I am particularly interested in the relationship between music and math at both behavioral and neurological levels of analysis. I am privileged to be an advisee to Dr. Kelly Mix, and to work in the Learning and Cognition Lab. Outside of academia, I enjoy writing poetry, stories, and songs. I also love to sing and bake sweet treats. My favorite thing to do in the Fall is to make caramel spice cappuccinos!
