Teacher Education Summit 2024

Preparing Teachers for Maryland: Expanding Pathways and Partnerships

“Ensuring all students have the teachers they deserve”

February 1, 2024

Adele H. Stamp Student Union

University of Maryland College Park

College Park, MD

The Teacher Education Summit provides an opportunity for state-wide conversations about the teacher shortage, its impact on classroom instruction, and how we are recruiting teachers into the profession. The Summit will provide leaders in our state who work with teacher education a forum in which to discuss the teacher shortage and consider strategies for how we ensure that all students have the teacher they deserve. Specifically, the Summit will focus on how the State of Maryland’s PK-12 schools and higher education can work together to expand and sustain pathways into high quality teacher preparation programs and at the same time:

  • Recruit with a focus on effective, racially competent, and retainable teachers, and
  • Expand the diversity of the teaching profession.

Registration and sign in for the Summit will be at the main entrance of the Stamp Student Union across from the Information Desk.
