Mary Taylor-Lewis will be responsible for developing and enhancing DEI initiatives across the college and creating new systems and processes to help integrate inclusion, equity and justice into our work and culture.
Mary brings more than nine years of experience in designing institutional policies, cultivating relationships and developing and evaluating high-impact programming. She previously served as program administrator at the Yale Center for the Study of Race, Indigeneity and Transnational Migration; chief strategic inclusion officer at Westover School; and program coordinator and success coach in the Office of Academic Multicultural Initiatives at the University of Michigan. Committed to building an inclusive organizational culture, she has planned and executed programs that focus on and exemplify race, identity, intersectionality and intercultural dialogue. She has also facilitated workshops, spearheaded DEI climate assessments and led responses to student activism and social justice issues.
Mary has certificates in coaching from the Center for Creative Leadership, and is a qualified administrator for the Cultural Intelligence (CQ) Self Assessment, and Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI). Mary received her BA in Communication Studies and Leadership Minor from the University of Minnesota, and Master of Arts in Higher Education, concentration in diversity and social justice from the University of Michigan.
