Graduate Student Organization

Dear College of Education Students and Faculty,

Welcome to the 2021-2022 academic year! As this year’s executive board of the Graduate Student Organization (GSO), we are so excited to begin a new term with you!

As a global community, we continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, manage its social and economic impacts, and grapple with the long-standing causes and consequences of racism. These are issues that remain relevant and this academic year will certainly look different again.

Your GSO team is working hard to do its part in realizing opportunities to advocate for and advance antiracist practices and policies in the COE, promote meaningful connections with peers and colleagues, and renew progress in our academic undertakings and lines of research.

For AY 2021-2022, we have three overarching goals: 1) foster a diverse, inclusive, and anti-racist community across our COE departments and programs; 2) celebrate our colleagues’ successes and milestones as graduate students; and 3) create opportunities for graduate students to develop their professional growth. To realize these goals, we hope to organize several virtual and physically-distanced gatherings to highlight the exciting academic endeavors and achievements of your peer grad students, but also to wind down and foster human connections.

Our first event of the year will be our Annual Welcome Fair on Friday, August 27, 2021 from 11am to 1pm. We hope you will join us! Check out our event page for more information and resources.

Throughout the year, please connect with us via email, social media, or our website to let us know how we can best meet the needs of COE graduate students. We are here to support you!
