Kelly Lynn Mulvey ('13), alumna of the Human Development doctoral program of the department of Human Development and Quantitative Methodology, has received an award from the National Science Foundation's (NSF) CAREER program for over $200K to work on her research in social-cognitive development! Her biography as Assistant Professor and Lab Director of the Social Development Lab in the Department of Psychology at North Carolina State University explains how her work "examines broadening the participation of underrepresented groups in the STEM fields and understanding stereotypes regarding who can and should be a scientist."

Kelly Lynn's NSF project, Promoting Equitable and Inclusive STEM Contexts in High School, seeks to root out the bias and discrimination in high school STEM environments to create equitable climates in the field before individuals enter college or the workforce. STEM students will be trained to develop the skills needed to support their peers when they are faced with discrimination and harassment.

Great work, Kelly Lynn! We look forward to seeing your research grow!
