Jing Liu, assistant professor of education policy, talks with T74 about reducing student absenteeism. Based on his research, he "recommends reporting attendance in a way that goes beyond chronic absenteeism. He proposes an “attendance value-added” measure that would reveal schools’ contributions to reducing absenteeism and offer “a much fairer” comparison."
