COLLEGE PARK, MD (July, 2014) – You thought your new desktop was fast! With the Division of IT’s launch of the new Cyberinfrastructure Center, they also announced the availability of Deepthought2. Deepthought2 is a supercomputer (high-performance computing cluster) capable of performing hundreds of millions of MOPS (million operations per second) a measure of performance.

If you have a need for data modeling, statistical analysis or similar that would require such computing power, please see the DIT news release on Deepthought2, including how to apply for free allocations of compute time.
