ETS to Subsidize Departments for High-Efficiency Power Supplies

Computers in a row

As part of our College representation on the President’s Energy Initiatives Task Force and commitment to those goals, Educational Technology Services (ETS) will subsidize the cost increase to COE departments for purchasing higher efficiency power supplies where possible, specifically on Windows-based desktop computer systems, to 92% efficiency (80Plus Platinum).

While we are limited in our ability to have a significant impact on individual, large-scale opportunities, this is one way we can have a small impact on multiple purchases.

ETS will be working with departments to arrange reimbursements on a regular basis.  If you have any questions, please contact the ETS Director, Steve Pragel (spragel@umd.edu).
