Educational Technology Services is pleased to host a Division of IT presentation by Sue Johnston: “Removing Barriers to Learning - Evaluating Your ELMS Course for Accessibility” for College of Education faculty and staff.  Light refreshments will be served, so please be sure to RSVP if interested.

The University of Maryland is committed to equal access to Web content for all. The Division of Information Technology (DIT) can offer guidance and documentation, training and consultation, and more.

UDOIT is an accessibility tool available to faculty and staff within ELMS. The tool will scan your course, generate a report, and provide resources to address issues.

In addition, video content placed on the web should include captioning. Panopto and Kaltura will provide automated captioning. Human captioning is also available on campus on a for-fee basis.

As a show of thanks for attending and demonstrating a commitment to increasing the accessibility of ELMS course content, attendees will be eligible to receive up to 100 minutes of professional captioning of their ELMS videos stored in the Kaltura media storage platform for free.
