From Idea Conception to Publication: Details of Conducting Research and Writing a Manuscript

The process from conceptualizing a research project to publishing a manuscript is often lengthy and involved. I detail the process, including conceptualization, data collection, timeline, the review process, proofs, and eventually publication. I intentionally highlight a non-funded solo-author manuscript to provide perspective on all aspects of the publishing process and to provide insight on how individuals can take existing data and publish a manuscript. This talk could be beneficial for those considering publishing from a dissertation or for others who are curious about details of the publication process. The talk will focus on the process of publishing: Mathematics Teacher Educator Noticing: Examining Interpretations
and Evidence of Students’ Thinking in the Journal of Mathematics Teacher Education.
