ETS Hosted Brown Bag

Removing Barriers to Learning- Evaluating Your ELMS Course for Accessibility
0306 Benjamin Building

Attendees will get hands-on experience using several powerful tools now available within ELMS to check for, and resolve, the most common accessibility errors in course content. We will also review basic accessibility requirements under federal and state law, and learn how these tools can assist in meeting those requirements. Bring your laptop and samples of course content (ELMS course space, or other web pages) for hands-on work.

As a show of thanks for attending and demonstrating a commitment to increasing the accessibility of ELMS course content, attendees will be eligible to receive up to 100 minutes of professional captioning of their ELMS videos stored in the Kaltura media storage platform.

By the end of the session, attendees will be able to access and use the basic features of:

  • ELMS Rich Text Editor Accessibility Checker

  • Design Tool Accessibility Checker

  • Quiz Extensions Tool

  • UDOIT (Universal Design Online content Inspection Tool)

Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of ELMS
