ONLINE

Dr. Cixin Wang, associate professor of school psychology, licensed psychologist and nationally certified Mental Health First Aid instructor, and her team at the University of Maryland College of Education are offering FREE Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) trainings for parents of youth between the ages of 9 and 20!

The Youth Mental Health First Aid training helps parents:

(1) gain the expertise needed to support youth mental well-being,

(2) acquire skills to help you recognize and address common signs of mental health issues in young people,

(3) enhance your understanding of mental health challenges prevalent among diverse youth in your community, and

(4) effectively interact with adolescents in crisis and connect them with appropriate resources.

The Youth Mental Health First Aid training is FREE and will be held virtually on a Saturday or Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. between May and November.

Supported by the National Council of Mental Well-being and Mental Health First Aid, this training is part of a research study. Participants will earn up to $80 for completing surveys.
