On March 4, the University of Maryland community will come together for a 24-hour fundraising event. Students, alums, faculty, staff, parents, families and friends join in on the largest day of giving because when thousands of Terps come together, the possibilities are endless.
Our goal is simple: Give it Forward. With your help, we can raise critical funding that supports the College of Education's efforts to transform education for Good.
Special Challenge
This year, participating in Giving Day holds extra importance because it can help unlock transformational funding for our students. Marc Abbey, a dedicated friend of the college, is challenging the College of Education to increase the number of donors on Giving Day. If 270 EdTerps make a gift on Giving Day, Marc will release an additional $120,000 to support student scholarships.
College of Education Funds
There are many worthwhile causes that support the College of Education, including the following funds for our students:
- Teach Forward Scholarship: Help us support our future educators. This fund reduces tuition for teacher certification students in their internship year. The internship year is particularly difficult as future teachers incur many additional expenses as they complete their internships in schools.
- The Greatest Needs Fund: Help us meet emerging needs of graduate and undergraduate students. Last year, this fund supported students’ educational and living expenses and provided emergency funds for students in need. It also funded the EdTerps Pantry, which aims to address food insecurity by providing easy access to healthy snacks and ready-to-eat meals.
