"The Holmes Scholars Program is excited to host its professional development workshop, Stand Out: Crafting and Positioning Powerful Conference Proposals.

This interactive professional development workshop is open to all students (undergraduate and graduate) and will take place on April 17th at 11 AM. The workshop will demystify the conference proposal process—from identifying the right venues and understanding call-for-proposals guidelines to crafting compelling submissions that stand out.

Scholars will leave with:

  • Practical strategies for aligning research interests with conference themes
  • Distinguishing between pre-conference and main conference submissions
  • Navigating the review and selection process from an insider's perspective
  • How to interpret and integrate reviewer feedback

Walk away with concrete tools to develop confident, competitive conference proposals! Register here. If you have any questions, email Mary Taylor-Lewis at mktlewis@umd.edu."
