Debbie Lewin serves as a Professional Development School (PDS) Coordinator for the Elementary Education Program.  In this capacity, she oversees three semesters of the undergraduate professional program which includes a yearlong intern residency while teaching corresponding seminar courses and maintaining relationships and training for university supervisors, school partners, and mentor teachers.  Debbie joined the University of Maryland community as a PDS coordinator in 2018

Debbie is a 1988 graduate of the Master's Certification Program at the University of Maryland.  She received her Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources with a concentration in environmental education at the University of Michigan in 1984.  Prior to joining the faculty at the University of Maryland, Debbie worked as an elementary classroom teacher with Howard County Public Schools, Maryland and served as a mentor teacher and university supervisor to teacher candidates.
