Kimberly Griffin, professor and associate dean of graduate studies and faculty affairs, interviews with Diverse Issues in Higher Education about the recent release of the AAUP Survey of Tenure Practices.
Dr. Griffin explains: “For a long time, the idea has been that we increase faculty diversity by focusing on the candidates themselves and helping them better navigate structures and systems. And we’re moving more and more at the institutional level [to] acknowledging the barriers that are in place and the ways that institutions actually limit access to success in the academy long-term.”
