Microschools, which can be considered a type of homeschooling, are small, flexible educational environments that emphasize personalized learning, small class sizes and daily trips. They allow students to learn at their own pace while fostering close-knit communities.
“We tend to think of the curriculum at school as requiring seven hours a day, five days a week, but it doesn't,” said Associate Professor Kellie Rolstad, in an interview with WTOP. She explains that microschools often blend academic learning with play and project-based activities, offering an alternative to traditional schooling models.
