COE Launches Online Certificate Program in Special Education for Teachers in Inclusive Classrooms

The University of Maryland College of Education special education program has launched a new Graduate Certificate designed to equip teachers to meet the needs of students with disabilities in inclusive classrooms. The certificate program, Special Education for General Education Teachers in Inclusive Classrooms, is currently accepting applications and the first group of scholars will matriculate in January 2019.

Scholars will complete five online graduate courses in one year: one course in the spring, and two in the summer and fall. Course topics include “Issues and Trends in Educating Individuals with Disabilities,” “Advanced Study in Inclusive Practices in the Schools” and “Behavior and Classroom Management in Special Education.”

Application deadline: Applications should be submitted by December 1, 2018 for best consideration. The final application deadline is December 15, 2018.
