Post Doctoral Improvement Science Action Network (PDISAN)
About PDISAN
The Post Doctoral Improvement Science Action Network (PDISAN) brings together graduates from the UMD EdD program, school leaders, UMD faculty, and other experts to examine school improvement research, promote evidence-based practices, publish quality research, and lead improvement networks across the districts that aim to solve tough problems and improve student outcomes.
Core Functions of PDISAN
Deeply engaging with the research topics, findings, and implications of the dissertations completed by the UMD EdD graduates. The purpose of this will be to find common or related problems of practice and promising practices that could be tested and/or spread in schools.
Work with CEii and UMD faculty to review data and research evidence related to the educational challenges we address and design intervention strategies based on the data and evidence.
Study Improvement Science and explore its use as the signature strategy and process for helping address problems of practice in public education.
As this network matures, members will lead school improvement efforts in partnership with UMD and PGCPS and serve as ambassadors for improvement inside PGCPS and beyond.
Work with CEii and UMD faculty to document and publish research-practice partnership outcomes
