Professor Natasha Cabrera was interviewed by The Atlantic to discuss the disconnect between “dad culture” and fatherhood in modern media. The article dissects colloquial phrases relating to stereotypical dad characteristics, like “dad bods” and “dad jokes,' and asserts that they do not relate to the actual role fathers play in their children’s lives. 
 

Cabrera explained that today, more than ever, fathers are more active in the home. “More men feel like they want to do more hands-on parenting… Men want custody of the children. They want to engage with kids. They spend more time reading and doing caregiving,” she explained.
