From pioneering research to hands-on innovation, our faculty and students are harnessing AI to enhance teaching, personalize learning and expand access to knowledge.

With the opening of our Center for Educational Data Science and Innovation, we’re accelerating research and reimagining what’s possible in schools, classrooms,and communities through the use of AI. Our researchers and educators are developing cutting-edge tools, examining how technology influences learning and preparing educators to use AI thoughtfully and effectively.

Professor: Fengfeng Ke

This introductory course explores the foundations, applications, and implications of artificial intelligence in education. Students will survey both domain-general and domain-specific AI tools, examine human intelligence and learning in relation to AI, and trace the historical development of the field. Core AI methods and categories will be introduced, with hands-on practice in large language model (LLM) applications. 

Additional activities include exploring AI-powered tools creative or research-based projects. Students will critically engage with policy and management considerations for AI in K–12, higher education, and professional learning.
