Supporting inclusive classroom Practices, Interventions, Research, and Leadership (SPIRAL)

The SPIRAL Lab conducts research in partnership with K-12 educators and university teacher educators. Led by Shanna Hirsch, PhD. the SPIRAL team co-develops studies to address the most pressing needs of educators. Our work centers on supporting educators in implementing inclusive classroom practices and intensive, individualized interventions for students with and without disabilities. We aim to identify effective instructional methods to support student behavior and investigate innovative, responsive, technology-based methods for training teacher candidates and sustaining in-service educators. Our collaborative lab focuses on building undergraduate and graduate scholars’ competencies in the areas of teaching, research, and leadership.
