Abigail Smith is a Jamaican international doctoral student in the International Education Policy Program (CHSE). She works in the Global learning Initiative office as a graduate assistant. Her career in student affairs spans from the United States to the United Arab Emirates and even on Semester At Sea. Abigail's research interests focus on the internationalization of higher education, education development through epistemic justice in the Caribbean and the experience of Black teachers, students and faculty in U.S education systems. In her spare time she enjoys reading, traveling, playing tennis and baking sourdough bread. Abigail holds a B.A. in Sociology from Randolph College in Virginia and a M.A. in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of Connecticut.
