Translanguaging, Humanizing Pedagogy, Language Acquisition, TESOL, and Teacher Education

A first-generation college student, Jiaxuan earned her bachelor's degree and first master's degree in landscape architecture in China, and a second master's degree in TESOL from Adelphi University, Garden City, NY. In June 2023, she earned her doctoral degree in applied linguistics and language education. Her dissertation research is a qualitative study, which examines EFL teachers' and students' language practices and language attitudes through the lens of translanguaging and humanizing pedagogy.
