John Robertson is a doctoral candidate in the Human Development program (Educational Psychology specialization) in the Department of Human Development and Quantitative Methodology at the University of Maryland. John’s work examines how learners evaluate evidence, generate scientific explanations, and shift epistemic judgments across development, with particular attention to scaffolded instruction and emerging uses of large language models and other novel technologies for learning and instruction. His research has been presented at national and international conferences and published in journals such as Journal of Educational Psychology.
Prior to joining the Human Development program at UMD, John earned a B.A. in Chinese from University of Maryland and an M.S. in Education from Johns Hopkins University.
