The #EdTerpsDialogues are a series of panels featuring educators, administrators, researchers, parents, and community leaders who engage in discussions around topics of interest within the education sector.

The third ed-pisode: "Preparing for Differentiation in Digital Contexts from Grades PK-12" focuses on personalized learning and accommodating student differences in online platforms.

Dr. Kia McDaniel, Director of Curriculum and Instruction for Prince George's County Public Schools

Kia Myrick McDaniel, Ed.D., has dedicated her career to supporting and developing equitable educational opportunities for culturally and linguistically diverse students as a classroom teacher, ESOL teacher, specialist, and administrator.   She is currently the Director of Curriculum and Instruction in Prince George's County Public Schools, an adjunct professor, and consultant.

Mr. John Nash, Principal at Anne Arundel County Public Schools

John Nash is the proud principal of Lindale Middle School, a STEM magnet located in the Anne Arundel County Public School System. John’s passion and work is driven by the belief that ALL students must be provided with an excellent and equitable education. At Lindale Middle School, John and team believe strongly in the power of collaboration among faculty, staff, and students which has resulted in improved academic, behavioral, and social outcomes. John Nash has served as a principal of diverse schools for the last eleven years. John has also served as board member for the Florida Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, selected as an “Emerging Leader” by the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, and selected as the 2013-2014 “Spirit of Excellence Principal Award” for improving the academic

performance of English of Second Language students.

Dr. Alexandra Shelton, Faculty Specialist/Project Director

Dr. Shelton's work focuses on improving literacy instruction and intervention for secondary students with reading difficulties and disabilities via intensive intervention and teacher professional development and coaching. She is currently the project director of two federally-funded grants (including one funded by the Institute of Education Sciences) that aim to provide professional development and coaching to middle school teachers to promote their use of evidence-based literacy practices. As a former high school special education teacher, she served students in the general and special education settings in English language arts, reading, math, and science.
