Hedwig Teglasi

Dr. Hedwig Teglasi is a professor at the University of Maryland and Director of the School Psychology Program.  Hedy is a fellow of the American Psychological Association, the American Academy of School Psychology, and the Society for Personality Assessment.  She has served on editorial boards of leading journals and has published numerous journal articles, book chapters, and books on topics encompassing temperament, personality assessment, and mental health.  When she is not working or spending time with (or cooking for) family, she looks forward to practicing yoga and spending time outdoors.

Roxy Odiorne

Roxy Odiorne Profile Picture

Roxy Odiorne is a second-year doctoral student in the School Psychology program. Her research interests include how parents and teachers can serve as emotion coaches for children and the use of storybooks to teach emotion regulation. She received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Texas Christian University. When she's not studying temperament and emotion regulation, she enjoys thrifting, exploring DC with friends, and trying out local coffee shops.

Saleena Wilson

Seleena Wilson Profile Picture

Saleena Wilson is a second-year doctoral student in the School Psychology program. Her research interests focus on children's use of interpersonal emotion regulation, measure development, and social cognition. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Experimental Psychology from the University of South Carolina and her Master's in Psychological Sciences from James Madison University. When she’s not studying temperament and emotion regulation, she enjoys cooking, reality TV, and spending time at home with her cats.

Laura Kelly

Laura Kelly is a third-year doctoral student in the School Psychology program. Her research interests include child temperament, cognition, and the building blocks of social competence. She received her Bachelor's degree at the University of Pittsburgh, where she double-majored in Psychology and Writing and completed a certificate in Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies. When she’s not studying temperament and emotion regulation, she enjoys dancing, hiking, and traveling to new places. 

Bridget Moran

Bridget Moran is a third-year doctoral student in the School Psychology program. Her research focuses on the effects of screen time and social media on children's mental health, as well as exploring how children's books can foster family discussions about potential coping strategies. She earned her B.A. in Psychology and Women, Gender, & Sexuality Studies from the University of Virginia. Outside of her academic pursuits, Bridget enjoys hiking, practicing yoga, and traveling.

Ilcia Hernandez is a fourth year doctoral student in the School Psychology program. Her research interests include temperamental anger and the use of children’s books as a tool for promoting coping skills. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland. When she’s not studying temperament and emotion regulation, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, and spending time in nature. 

Carrie McMahon

Carrie McMahon Headshot

Carrie McMahon is a fourth year doctoral student in the School Psychology program. Her research interests focus on temperament profiles and psychosocial functioning in early-childhood. Carrie is also interested in expanding intervention theory on mechanisms of change in equine-assisted interventions. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Penn State University. When she’s not studying temperament and emotion regulation, she enjoys jamming to music, horseback riding, and spending time with friends and family.

Hailey Fleece

Hailey is a fifth year doctoral student in the School Psychology program. Her research interests include early childhood behavioral inhibition and parent-child relationships. She received her bachelor's degree in Psychology and her Master's degree in Human Development from the University of Maryland. When she's not studying temperament and emotion regulation, Hailey enjoys practicing yoga and hiking.
