This summer, the College of Education hosted two summer camps to engage youth in mathematics and reading: Mathletics and the Summer Reading Program.
Mathletics , a year-long program designed to help middle school students engage in data analytics through sports, organized a variety of activities for campers, including a mini sports combine, golfing lessons and a field trip to a Washington Mystics basketball game.
The Summer Reading Program helps students in kindergarten through sixth grade who are struggling with reading. Through specialized instruction, author visits and book distributions, campers hone their reading skills, boosting reading fluency and comprehension.
