What We Do

The Center is committed to engaging with a wealth of diverse communities, federal government agencies, higher education institutions, and international partners to set an ambitious agenda for addressing diversity and inclusion issues in higher education. Our multifaceted work primarily focuses on the following areas:

  • Lead a national Thought Leaders Summit focused on social justice and equity
  • Administer a graduate student small research grant and symposium
  • Employ a robust research agenda
  • Use multiple platforms to advance scholarship related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice in higher education 

  • Produce position papers that offer a scholar-practice approach 
  • Engage in consultations to inform best practices for diversity and inclusion 
  • Influence higher education policy 
  • Cultivate local, national, and international partnerships
  • Host the national Diversity and Inclusion Higher Education Conference 
  • Support curriculum development 
  • Promote the Center for Diversity and Inclusion in Higher Education Scholars Colloquia
