Terrapin EdTalks: Advancing Equity

On October 3, the UMD College of Education presented our inaugural Terrapin EdTalks: Advancing Equity event in celebration of 100 years of leadership in education. This centennial celebration featured five faculty talks that highlight how the college is paving the way to advance equity in Maryland and beyond.

Dr. Patricia A. Alexander presented, "The 'Non-Smart' Use of Smart Technologies: The New Digital Divide for Today's iGeneration." She encourages the audience to think about the over- or misuse of technology by today's young people and the impact the new digital divide has on connections between peers and on learning.
