MILE Fellows

AIMS
We will conduct high-quality, translational research to produce equity-focused and evidence-based literacy practices and policies that build upon cultural, learning and linguistic assets of learners. We will disseminate research findings to scholars, policymakers, practitioners, and the general public, within the state of Maryland and across the nation.
We will build and provide technical assistance and deliver professional development on equity-focused and evidence-based literacy practices through research symposia, summer institutes, micro-credentialing, job-embedded coaching and technical assistance to the Maryland State Department of Education and to all Maryland Local Education Agencies (LEAs).
We will build upon, publicize, enhance and co-create effective and equitable family-school-community connections for literacy and language (including bi-literacy) development through equity-focused and evidence-based literacy practices to inform literacy policy and implementation in the state of Maryland.
