Center for Educational Innovation and Improvement (CEII)

Projects

Over a five year span, the CEii has conducted over 100 presentations and training, ranging from national talks at AERA and the Carnegie Improvement Summit to the facilitation of professional development for the state and local districts. Among the numerous tools that the CEii has developed are those targeting support for the Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) and Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI) schools identified by MSDE under the Maryland Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).

For example, the CEii developed and implemented a year long Root Cause Analysis (RCA) project, including on-site facilitation around problem identification for CSI schools and a RCA Facilitator Guide. The CEii is generating resources on continuous improvement planning for a new TSI network grounded in improvement science that include quarterly facilitated convenings, webinars, and an unprecedented process of UMD faculty support. The CEii also launched an annual School Improvement Summer Institute for school leaders across the region focused on equity and continuous improvement.
